WHY CONSOLIDATE BUS STOPS?

To improve the quality and reliability of bus service, we are systematically analyzing bus stops by route based on usage, spacing and host of other factors. Through this process, we’ve developed a plan to remove stops while still providing access to riders. Our goal is to reduce the number of stops to improve on-time performance, reliability and our riders' overall experience.

Providing convenient transportation that picks up and drops off when it's supposed to is a key goal.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR RIDERS?

The transit industry has standards for stops per mile, depending on population density. Our goal is to consolidate bus stops to our Bus Stop and Street Design Guidelines. Bus stops will still be located near key intersections, major activity generators and areas to accommodate people with disabilities.

HOW DO RIDERS RECOGNIZE A BUS STOP PROPOSED FOR CONSOLIDATION?

A notice will be placed on the stop when a bus stop is proposed to be removed.

WHAT DETERMINES WHICH STOPS TO CONSOLIDATE?

We have service standards and policies that include bus stop spacing for bus services, including Bus Stop and Street Design Guidelines, and we are constantly monitoring our bus stops, especially those on public right-of-way.
